Be….then do.
When I first heard this phrase, “Be, then do.” I was confused. I had always thought that to be was to do. My answers were always found in doing something. I got frustrated….go clean the house. I worried….go eat. I got mad….go clean a lot!
Now incomes a new paradigm to consider. I remember thinking all they are saying is to do nothing and then go do something and that was just wasting time. But, it did keep me thinking and I remember inserting just a pause before I went and did something. This pause turned into a big breath which then turned into feeling a greater sense of peace. Then I started to consider why I really was frustrated, worried or mad. Imagine that….thinking about why you are being the way you are being…lol. Magically it seemed, the emotion dissipated. Whoa…that was weird. I felt better and I didn’t even “do” anything.
We don’t know what we don’t know. To consider a new way of thinking is going to feel strange. It’s a new way of thinking so there is no way to know what it will be.
We are all doing the best we can at any given moment. As my friend, Monique says, “Go gently in the world.”
